‘Shape shifter’ is inspired by animals’ resilience survival ability to camouflage and conceal into the environment then re-appear in its original form. The collection explores this concept through the contrast of fabric and textures with a strong focus on leather. Different weights and transparencies are layered and combined to translate movement and the idea of shifting from one to another. The garments were developed entirely through the draping process to echo the transitional and fluid abilities of these animals. The ‘Ever changing’ dress (silhouette 3) speaks directly into the concept and can be transformed from a flat circle into an array of 3 dimensional looks simply through the act of pulling a strap through the eyelets.
(Mook Attakanwong will present the silhouettes 1 & 3)
