SAMANTHA DE LA FUENTE - Miami International University of Art & Design - USA

Samantha De La Fuente's inspiration for the capstone collection she designed arose from the resiliency of buildings and rocks which can withstand all types of weather. Her color story portrays the different stages of weather damage commencing from white, then progressing to grey and finally ending in black. In this collection, she incorporated a variety of fabrics that have disparate textures and weights to represent the diversified ranges of levels and intensities caused by weather. Resiliency is not only represented by the damage inflicted from the weather onto the building but also in ourselves as we survive our everyday adversities.
