ARTS OF FASHION COMPETITION 2016 - RESULTS | 8 AWARDED CANDIDATES
The 15th annual Arts of Fashion Foundation Rendez-Vous, developed around another intensive two-day schedule, took place in the downtown of San Francisco, on October 24-25, 2016.
Starting with Fashion.edu - presentation of research from three Fashion professors (based in New York - Fiona Dieffenbacher, Beijing - Lan Lan and Basel - Priska Morger), followed by Tandem-series - a conversation with Haute Couture designer Anne Valerie Hash and the Deputy Director for the Museum of the Fashion Institute of Technology Patricia Mears, the two-day event culminated on Tuesday evening, with another fantastic Fashion Show, presenting the work of 50 selected emerging designers from all over the world, bringing the Arts of Fashion into the life and heart of many people at the Bently Reserve.
Presided over by Anne Valerie Hash, Francois Girbaud, co-founder of the iconic brand Marithe + Francois Girbaud, joined the jury as well as Patricia Mears and Xiaotian Zhang (2011 winner of the Arts of Fashion), designer at Marc Jacobs.

CONGRATULATIONS! Here is below the list of the selected candidates for the Finals of the International Arts of Fashion Competition 2016 on October 24-25 in San Francisco. (They were selected among 346 applicants from 112 Schools and Universities and 29 countries).
Special thanks to the Dean of the College of Art, Architecture and Design of the University of Monterrey (UDEM) - Carlos Garcia Gonzalez, and the Academic Director of the Fashion and Textile Department - Alessandra Perlatti for generously organizing and hosting the first part - Jury session and Fashion Edu-series - of the Arts of Fashion Competition 2016 at the Center Roberto Garza Sada of Art, Architecture and Design, on May 5-6, 2016.

Many thanks to jurors, who traveled to Mexico to join the first Jury Session and the Fashion Edu-series at the University of Monterrey (UDEM) - hosting generously the entire 2-day session: Santiago Utima (Colombia), Kinor Jiang (Hong Kong), Jose Miguel Valdivia (Peru), Anna Niemczyk-Gadd (Poland), Maria de Graca Guedes (Portugal), Alessandra Perlatti (Mexico), Myra Walker (United States) and Ji Ah Lim (South Korea).
1.THE ARTS OF FASHION COMPETITION EXISTS TO:
Promote and reward creativity and inventiveness; discover emerging talent and facilitate careers; establish enriching contacts and exchanges between different countries, schools and universities; and to foster new relationships between those from different industries and fields.
The 2016 first laureates will receive Awards and a Certification for their creative and original work based on theme. (Judging based on coherence with the theme, skill level, creativity and artful expressiveness)

4. GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION 2016:
competition is open to students studying Fashion, Art and Design anywhere in
the world during the academic year 2015-2016. Participants will not only
represent themselves, but also their Schools, Colleges or Universities,
as well as their Countries.
5. RULES & REGULATIONS FOR AOF COMPETITION 2016:
Format of each page: 8.5" x 11" or A4 / Letter – and on separate pages (do not try to bind or mount it or else) – name and school and email address and cell phone number should be written on the back of each page with a pencil

the candidates’ responsibility to arrange for verification of shipment
with their shipping company.

The Arts of Fashion Foundation is a San Francisco-based 501(c)(3), public, non-profit organization, linking both academics and professionals alike and is dedicated in fostering international cultural exchange through the creation of a variety of educational programs meant to facilitate critical thinking and advance the field of fashion among artists, designers, scholars and students.The primary focus of the foundation is the continuous support of creativity and design process in fashion and the arts linked to it.
