Naoki Kitamura - Creative Director, Designer

Naoki Kitamura attributes his artistic talent to his study of fashion design at Bunka Fashion College in Tokyo and Parsons School of Art and Design in New York City. He has participated in fashion shows in Tokyo, Japan, his native country and New York, displaying his intricate luxury womenswear. Aside from fashion, Kitamura’s work producing gaming software for Electronic Arts Square enhanced his taste for computer-based design. After working for fashion designers in New York, Kitamura launched an artist collective with friends entitled AUGE DESIGN. There, this group of creative minds specialized in graphic design and website design. In 2003, Kitamura partnered with Grace Fung to create Famura – a high-end luxury womenswear label, incorporating the finest fabrics with an exquisite design aesthetic.

Grace Fung - Designer

Grace Fung was raised in Canada and eventually pursued her interest in business at the University of Toronto where she acquired a Bachelor Degree of Arts and Science majoring Economics and Statistics. Her strong interest in fine art and design led her to tap into her creative side, where she studied at Ontario College of Art & Design, as well as Ryerson University in Toronto. Later Fung gained valuable work experience as the art coordinator at Hip Ki Box Company in Hong Kong, her native country. There she created cool gift packaging and other items, all in plastic. Fung ultimately headed to New York City and received her degree in fashion design at Parsons School of Art and Design. In Spring 2003, she launched her fashion design career while partnering with Naoki Kitamura. They will be launching Famura’s first complete womenswear collection during New York’s Fall 2004 Fashion Week.
